OUR STORY

One Tree Planted at UCLA was founded in 2020 with the support of the national environmental non-profit, One Tree Planted. It all started in 2014, when founder Matt Hill started the organization with the goal of educating others on the importance of trees and reforestation and to make it easier for individuals and companies to donate and make a difference. With the simple idea of $1 = 1 tree, One Tree Planted managed to plant 1.3 million trees in 2018 in locations in North America, South America, Africa, and Asia.

One Tree Planted at UCLA started with a group of undergraduate students who wanted to join the mission of global reforestation to combat the effects of climate change. We plan to contribute to the movement through fundraising efforts, educational programs, and tree planting events. Contact us to learn more or to discover how you can make a difference!

About Us: About Us
Forest Trees

WHY ARE TREES SO IMPORTANT?

Trees filter the air we breathe by absorbing harmful chemicals and releasing oxygen we need to breath, clean the water we drink, provide habitat for millions of organisms, and much more. Deforestation is known to be one of the biggest contributors to climate change, so reforestation and planting more trees is the perfect solution to combat this problem.
